The Queen- Most powerful piece on the board can move in any one straight direction forward, backward, sideways, and diagonally
Rook - It can move whoever it wants but only forward, backward and to the sides they are powerful pieces
Bishops- Can move was far as it wants but only diagonally each one starts on a light square and the other the dark square
Knights- move different from other pieces they move in a L shape knights also can move over other pieces
Pawns- They move and capture they capture diagonally but they only can move one square at a time. If there is another piece in front the can't capture it or move past it
